Is the configuration of a Wireless Router+ADSL Modem different than that of a Wireless Rourter+Cable Modem? - wireless adsl modem router
I have my Linksys router (WRT54G) with multiple cable modems. Now I try to connect to a DSL modem. If I close my computer to the router wireless and wired, but (I am now with a DSL modem) no internet connection THR wired router (or wireless).

You must reduce the modem. If both the modem and the router attempts to PPPoE.
If there is a modem from AT & T.
1. Connect the computer directly to the modem.
2. Open Internet Explorer
3. In the address bar type 192.168.1.254 Explorer
4. This will open the configuration page of the modem, username and password are the username and password for the main account and e-mail T.
5. Having to select Network Settings loged
6. Modify PPPoE to Ethernet bridge. Notes from the Internet should reach the modem.
7. Connect the router and enter the address of the router in the address bar of Internet Explorer. The address for Linksys is192.168.1.1
8. Find and configure the router for PPPoE, if not already "is set Internet Connection Type" light. The Internet should go into the router.
Used some of these modems to require PPPoE setup between the router and modem. If the PC is directly connected to the modem, additional PPPoE software is needed on the PC. The real question is: If the modem has an Ethernet port on board, can you use an IP address via DHCP? Otherwise, I recommend a new modem. Otherwise, you must configure the PPPoE on the interface of the router configuration. Look at the router and modem for details. You need the PPPoE configuration information for the telephone company. Uname, password forgotten, etc.
It could be that the modem is bad. will attempt to ping the Internet when you are connected to the cable modem and still do not specify the modem may be that the modem is bad. also allows a closer look if you can test the modem, but have no connection to the Internet, then you may need to contact your ISP. technical assistance.
